You can not a SATA drive into an IDE laptop. You have to buy an IDE hard drive. If you still want to use the SATA drive as an external drive, you can use a USB Box for SATA drives. This allows you to store data on the SATA hard drive, but can not easily boot from there (not good enough to start Windows) the whole time, so you should always install internal IDE drive of your new operating system.
